BGC Moncton celebrates 65 years of helping children succeed

On November 29, 2022, BGC Moncton celebrates 65 years of helping local children and youth reach their full potential.

Many friends, supporters, ambassadors, colleagues… joined our 65th Anniversary event. We have so much to be proud of for what we have accomplished together for the last 65 years. Their attendance is proof that they share our vision and belief that a child’s story, with help and support, can be a happy one.

Founded in 1957, the organization serves as a safe and supportive place for kids to experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships, and develop confidence and healthy skills for life.

“BGC Moncton has changed the lives of thousands of children in our community since its launch 65 years ago. It’s thanks to the efforts of our dedicated staff and volunteers, generous donors, as well as the children themselves who continue to serve as an important source of inspiration, that this organization has endured, and is still achieving its mission of helping set children on positive future paths,” said Moncef Lakouas, executive director of BGC Moncton.

The non-profit organization offers a variety of programming six days a week, including summer camps, an early learning centre, after school programs, educational support, leadership programs and newcomer youth services. For its dedication to the local community, it was recently named non-profit organization of the year in the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Moncton Business Excellence Awards, held Oct. 18, 2022.
